The Bold Type's Katie Stevens Pens Powerful Message on Women's March 2018: 'Let's Do It'

Katie Stevens has something to say about the 2018 Women’s March!

The Bold Type actress took to Instagram on Saturday (January 20) to send her love and support to those involved in the marches taking place across the United States and around the world.

“Part of what makes @theboldtypetv so special is it’s portrayal of female friendship, feminism, and women who ask for what they want out of life,” she captioned a photo of herself posing with her co-stars Aisha Dee and Meghann Fahy.

“So proud of all the women marching today in the #WomensMarch and those who stand with them in solidarity even if they cannot march,” Katie added. “We stand with anyone who has ever been marginalized. Change is coming, but there are voices to raise, culture to shake up, and lots of work to do. let’s do it!”

She added a slew of heart and fist bump emojis of different skin tones.

Love it, Katie!

Season two of The Bold Type premieres on June 12 at 8 p.m. ET on Freeform.

Freeform Renews 'The Bold Type' For Two More Seasons!

Good news for The Bold Type fans — it’s coming back for two more seasons!

Katie Stevens, Meghann Fahy, and Aisha Dee will return on the show, as well as Melora Hardin, Sam Page and Matt Ward.

However, showrunner Sarah Watson will not return after creative differences with the network. Sweet/Vicious alum Amanda Lasher will take over.

The Bold Type is inspired by the life of Hearst Magazine chief content officer (and former Cosmo editor-in-chief) Joanna Coles and explores the lives and loves of those responsible for a global women’s magazine called Scarlet.

Congrats to the cast and crew!

These 'Bold Type' Scenes Actually Happened in Real Life First!

With a potential season two of The Bold Type still up in the air, we simply didn’t have the patience to just wait.

That’s why we’re letting you in on some fun behind-the-scenes secrets!

Executive producer Joanna Coles is spilling on which on-screen scenes actually went down in real life first, when she served as the editor-in-chief of both Marie Claire and Cosmopolitan magazines.

“I have literally 25 years of anecdotes,” Joanna told Business Insider. “There’s a wonderful episode where Jane is one of the young ambitious writers and she gets sued, and when a lawyer opens her notebook it’s got wine stains all over it, That very story happened to a friend of mine who was sued and, when the lawyer went to look at her notes, it was full of doodles and coffee stains. Actually we changed it to wine stains, but that was very much based on a real story.”

'The Bold Type' Stars Would Love To See The Girls Go on Vacation Together in Potential Season 2

'The Bold Type' Stars Would Love To See The Girls Go on Vacation Together in Potential Season 2

The Bold Type is one of the best shows of this summer and truth be told, JJJ already misses it!

Showrunner Sarah Watson already dished about what she’s hoping for in season two, and now it’s the stars turn.

Katie Stevens, Meghann Fahy and Aisha Dee opened up to ET about what kind of storylines they would like to see in a potential season two — and it’s all about a vacation.

“I think vacation episodes of shows are the best, ’cause you’re like, what are they doing out of the place where they live?!” Meghann shares. “It’s always so jarring, but also really exciting.”

Katie continues her hopes, saying, “I want this season to have, even though we had a dinner party with us at Richard’s, I want, like, I would love to see us all on a date together with our people.”

“Like, if I’m with Pinstripe, or deciding what that is, Pinstripe, [Sutton] and Richard, [Kat] and Adena.”

“Maybe they go to the Hamptons together to Richard’s house in the Hamptons!” Aisha adds.

We’re on board with that!

'The Bold Type' Showrunner Teases Season 2 Plans

'The Bold Type' Showrunner Teases Season 2 Plans

The Bold Type wrapped up its’ freshman season with a lot of loose ends and we need so many answers to what happens next.

We saw Kat leave for Peru to be with Adena, Sutton realize that she didn’t have feelings for Alex and maybe still had a lot for Richard, and Jane? Jane left Scarlet for Incite.

So what happens next? We need to know!

Speaking with TVLine, showrunner Sarah Watson offered some ideas as to what writers are planning, IF there is a season two. (We know, we hate that word too)

“I want to get to know the guys a little bit better,” she shared. “For Season 1, it was all about the girls and their friendship and getting to know them. It would be great now in Season 2 to get to know the guys, even outside of their relationships with the women.”

Another storyline that Sarah would love to pursue more is Jacqueline’s life: “I also want to go inside Jacqueline’s personal life and her home life a little more. We, intentionally, this first season kept Jacqueline pretty guarded…We wanted to keep her a mystery because we felt like that made her more powerful.”

“But now I feel like if we were to get a Season 2, we’ve earned the right to go a little bit more behind the curtain.”

'The Bold Type' Takes on Sexual Assault For Summer Finale

'The Bold Type' Takes on Sexual Assault For Summer Finale

The Bold Type is taking on sexual assault for their summer finale tonight.

In the episode, called “Carry the Weight”, Jane (Katie Stevens) stumbles upon a young woman whose performance art is also a powerful piece of activism.

It turns out that she’s a victim of sexual assault, and has decided to carry the scales of justice in protest of the justice that she feels she didn’t receive.

The Bold Type, like its’ lead in The Fosters, isn’t shying away from topics that we all should be talking about right now.

We can’t wait to watch the summer finale, TONIGHT @ 9PM ET/PT on Freeform.

The Bold Type's Katie Stevens Kicks Off Her Saturday Night With a Unicorn Dreamtini

The Bold Type's Katie Stevens Kicks Off Her Saturday Night With a Unicorn Dreamtini

We would just like to take a minute to appreciate Katie Stevens and her Unicorn Dreamtini.

The 24-year-old The Bold Type actress took to Instagram on Saturday evening (September 2) to post a photo of herself sipping on the drink made famous in last Tuesday’s episode of the hit Freeform show.

“While some are deep in thought about a fruit bowl, i’m indulging in a Unicorn Dreamtini,” she captioned the pic featuring her co-star Matt Ward. “Happy Saturday kids, be good!”

She also gave a shout-out to their other co-star Dan Jeannotte for the photo credit.

Scarlet Magazine’s signature cocktail is fruity and colorful, topped with whipped cream, a sugar rim, a twisty rainbow lollipop, an umbrella, and a very loopy straw.

While it looks amazing, showrunner Sarah Watson revealed on Twitter, “The ones on set were almond milk, food coloring, and glitter. Can anyone help us our w a real recipe? @Cosmopolitan, you guys got anything?”

Drink up!

Don’t miss the season finale of The Bold Type when it premieres this Tuesday (September 5) on Freeform.
